ELEVEN YEAR OLD ELLA FRECH HAD A FEW THINGS TO SAY ABOUT "ME BEFORE YOU"

Me Before You comes out tomorrow. I’ve never read the book, but my mom told me about it and I read the reviews online. It’s the story of a guy who gets in an accident, and has a spinal cord injury, and has to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. A guy you think should want to die because he has to live a life that looks like mine.

Legislation

On August 16, 2018, the Australian Senate defeated a bill that would have permitted the Australian Capital Territory and the Northern Territory to enact laws on euthanasia and assisted suicide.

In November 2017, New South Wales defeated a bill seeking to legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Victoria debated a similar Act, which passed with proposed amendments.

The amendments included a six months to live eligibility period. The Act nonetheless applies to people with years to live. This is because treatment can lead to recovery and predictions of life expectancy can be wrong.
